The Golden Gate Fire Protection District serves approximately 1200 residents at an estimated 450 addresses. The district covers nearly 50 square miles which include many park and recreation areas. Our department consists of volunteer fire fighters, medical and support personnel led by a part-time Fire Chief.
The Golden Gate Fire Protection District currently reports a fire danger warning status of "Moderate." While conditions allow for some outdoor activities, residents should exercise caution and adhere to all fire safety guidelines. Please remain vigilant, as even moderate conditions can pose risks in dry or windy environments.
In case of an emergency requiring police, fire, or medical assistance, please call 911 directly for immediate help. Do not call the firehouse, as emergency response teams are dispatched through the 911 system to ensure the fastest response. Remember, 911 is the quickest way to reach the help you need in an urgent situation.
Stay informed and keep your community safe by signing up for the Lookout Alert! This alert system notifies residents of emergencies in real time, providing critical information when it matters most. It also connects you with nearby help when CPR is needed. Every second counts!
The Golden Gate Fire Department has opportunities for lateral and new recruits. Lateral applicants may email the Fire Chief directly and a new recruitment application process generally opens each fall. We offer three volunteer programs: In-district for members that live within the district boundaries, Station shift program for members that live outside the district boundaries and a resident Firefighter program where Firefighters live at one of the stations.
