GGFPD LAUNCHES WILDLAND FIRE MITIGATION DIVISION

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Golden Gate Fire Protection District (GGFPD) is proud to announce the formation of our Wildland Fire Mitigation Division - a community-driven initiative focused on reducing wildfire risk, safeguarding homes, and educating our mountain community.

We are now recruiting volunteers to join this vital new division and be a part of the solution.

Join One of Our Three Volunteer Teams:

  • Work Crew:   Hands-on team performing fuels reduction, chipping, defensible space improvement, and other fieldwork on public land to directly mitigate wildfire risk.
  • Home Assessment Team:  Trained volunteers will assess properties within our district boundaries for wildfire risk and provide recommendations to help homeowners create safer defensible spaces.
  • Education and Community Outreach Team:  Help us spread the word! This team will lead efforts to educate the public, host events, distribute information, and engage with the community.

Why Volunteer?

Wildfire is a growing threat in our region.  By joining the Mitigation Division, you will:

  • Play a direct role in protecting our community
  • Receive training and develop new skills
  • Support neighbors and make a tangible difference
  • Be part of a passionate and committed team
